FAQs

How long does each therapy session take?

Most sessions are between 45-53 minutes.  Some times we will have longer sessions if insurance will allow and if treatment requires it.

How does Telehealth work?

It's really easy. You just need a device that has video capability, phone, iPad, computer, etc. It preferable to not just use audio telephone. I use a HIPAA compliant platform that does not require anything to be downloaded, rather just a link to click on at your appointment time. I encourage you to find a quiet private space that you feel comfortable talking and perhaps using headphones to ensure more privacy and confidentiality. If you feel you don't have privacy at home, I do have clients that choose to conduct therapy in the vehicles parked in their garage or a parking lot. Sometimes this can interfere with connection capabilities, so check that out beforehand. Make yourself comfortable, grab your favorite beverage, and have some tissues handy. Create your own "therapy space".

How do I know if I need therapy?

Great question! If this question is crossing your mind, this answer is likely yes. It's my belief therapy can be a positive benefit for most people. Therapist work with a vast range of presenting complaints and no issue is too small or large for us to dig into. We can work with an individual, a couple, a family or a group of people.

When will you resume in person sessions?

I will resume in person sessions when it is safe to do so, based on recommendations from local, state and national guidelines. I am following the guidelines from the CDC, NIH and APA, on reopening my practice to ensure a safe environment for all of my clients and self. I am proud to know I am setting a positive example of social responsibility during this stressful time of the pandemic.
